We were due to run our Scottish event, which we call HomeGame, this month, but hey ho. So we decided to do a weekly webinar instead, which we call HomeGames (see what we did there?).

We’ve done 8 of these so far, each Wednesday at 12.30pm for half an hour. After that there’s usually an AfterParty for 15 minutes or so where we open up the agenda to the audience and just see where it takes us. Each week there’s a guest, a bit of research which might be from the lang cat or might just be something interesting we found, a Metal T-Shirt Of The Week and a bad joke.

The idea is that we spend a bit of time together talking about interesting business-related things that have little or nothing to do with Covid-19. That said, we’ve covered loads on digital business and security over the weeks so far, along with adviser charging, using password managers in an IFA firm, how advisers can take on wealth managers and loads more. You can find all the past sessions of HomeGames here.

We wanted to let you know about the brilliant guests we have coming up, in the hope that you’ll come and join us.

20 May – Nicola Ellis from Wellington Wealth in Glasgow on client segmentation

27 May – Justine McCoy from Origo on integration and data security

3 June – Paul Feeney, chief executive of Quilter on mental health

If you can spare half an hour or so on a Wednesday lunchtime, or to watch the session back later, we’d love to have you. We keep comments and questions open during the sessions, so there’s plenty of chances to collaborate / heckle / express admiration (delete as appropriate).

We don’t try to change the world with HomeGames, just to spend an interesting, affable and sometimes slightly chaotic half hour in each other’s company. If that sounds OK to you, you can register for HomeGames here (just hit the green button to follow us) – or drop by on the day. If you’d like to suggest a topic or take part in a future session then drop a note to rebecca@langcatfinancial.com.
